Vigil Wiki Disclaimer

Last updated: May 28, 2026

This Disclaimer applies to the vigil.wiki website, web application, public note pages, and MCP integrations for Claude, ChatGPT, and other compatible agents (collectively, the "Service"). It supplements the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

1. Not legal, medical, financial, professional, or emergency advice

Vigil Wiki is a note-keeping and note-sharing service. It does not provide legal, medical, mental-health, financial, tax, investment, security, compliance, or other professional advice.

Notes, public pages, AI-generated text, AI-edited text, search results, summaries, backlinks, and MCP outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable for your situation.

Do not rely on Vigil Wiki or connected AI agents for emergencies. If you may harm yourself or others, or if you are experiencing a medical, mental-health, legal, financial, safety, or security emergency, contact qualified professionals or emergency services immediately.

2. AI-agent disclaimer

Vigil Wiki may let you connect AI agents such as Claude, ChatGPT, or other MCP-compatible clients. AI agents can misunderstand instructions, hallucinate, omit context, overwrite useful text, expose sensitive information, generate unlawful or infringing material, or publish content unexpectedly if given permission.

You are responsible for reviewing agent actions and outputs before relying on them or publishing them. Grant read, write, delete, and publish permissions only to clients and agents you trust.

Vigil Wiki does not control third-party AI models, AI clients, or agent platforms. Their own terms, policies, and data-handling practices apply.

3. Public publishing disclaimer

Published notes are public. Anyone with the URL may view them, and third parties may index, copy, archive, quote, screenshot, summarize, or link to them.

Unpublishing a note removes it from public display on Vigil Wiki, but it may not remove copies from search engines, browser caches, archives, third-party tools, other users' devices, AI systems, or other services outside Vigil Wiki's control.

Do not publish confidential information, personal data, copyrighted material, private communications, trade secrets, regulated data, or anything you are not authorized to disclose.

4. Copyright and user-content disclaimer

Users are responsible for their own content. Vigil Wiki does not endorse user notes and does not guarantee that public notes are accurate, lawful, original, non-infringing, safe, or appropriate.

Publishing copyrighted material without permission or legal authorization is prohibited. Rights holders may contact copyright@vigil.wiki to report alleged infringement.

5. Text-only service disclaimer

Vigil Wiki is meant for notes and text material. It is not a cloud drive, media-storage service, object store, file-sharing site, backup product, software-distribution platform, or CDN.

Storing or reconstructing images, videos, audio, software, archives, datasets, backups, executables, or other non-text files through encoding, base64, hexadecimal, compression, encryption, serialization, deserialization, chunking, or similar techniques is prohibited.

Accounts used for non-text file storage may be banned, user data may be deleted, and paid users will not receive refunds except where required by law.

6. Sensitive-data disclaimer

Unless Vigil Wiki expressly states otherwise, it is not an end-to-end encrypted vault, password manager, payment-card vault, medical records system, legal records system, or regulated compliance archive.

Do not store passwords, API keys, private keys, seed phrases, MFA codes, payment card data, government identifiers, protected health information, biometric identifiers, private location histories, or other highly sensitive data in Vigil Wiki.

7. Availability and data-loss disclaimer

We work to keep Vigil Wiki reliable, but the Service may be unavailable, delayed, interrupted, modified, or discontinued. Notes may be lost, corrupted, overwritten, deleted, exposed, or unavailable due to bugs, user actions, AI-agent actions, integrations, account compromise, hosting issues, legal requests, abuse enforcement, or events outside our control.

Keep separate backups of important material.

8. Security disclaimer

We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service is perfectly secure. You are responsible for protecting your account, using secure authentication practices, reviewing connected integrations, and avoiding storage of secrets or restricted data.

9. Third-party disclaimer

Vigil Wiki may interact with third-party services, including AI clients, OAuth providers, payment processors, hosting providers, and support tools. We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, data processing, content, policies, security, or actions.

Unless expressly stated in writing, Vigil Wiki is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic, Claude, ChatGPT, or any other third-party platform.

10. Jurisdiction and legal-compliance disclaimer

You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to your use of the Service, including laws related to copyright, privacy, data protection, export controls, consumer protection, harmful content, illegal content, and online conduct. Content may be removed or restricted if we believe it creates legal risk under U.S. law, Japanese law, your local law, our local law, or other applicable law.

11. No waiver

This Disclaimer does not limit any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable law. If there is a conflict between this Disclaimer and the Terms of Use, the Terms of Use control.
